Revolution 4 Running Shoe
The Nike Revolution 4 Running Shoe is nothing short of a work of art. Breathable mesh uppers are made with lightweight material that’s woven together to create large perforations over the surfaces of the shoe. This maximizes air flow and keeps your feet cool and dry for extended periods of use.
At a glance, it’s easy to see that the Revolution 4 has quite a substantial sole, especially around the area of the heel. The thick rubber material is bouncy and responsive, despite the lack of a Max Air cushion. This is further enhanced by plush padding that sits along the foot bed, adding extra rebound for a really energetic and springy step.
The outsoles on the Revolution 4 feature a sleek design with 6 distinct pads providing traction over the weight-bearing areas of the feet. I found this to be exceptionally effective for Jazzercise, especially because most routines are held in indoor facilities with smooth flooring.
Pros
- Breathable design reduces sweat production and maintains a cool climate for better comfort during extended use.
- Responsive sole provides substantial bounce.
- Effective outsole design offers reliable cling on smooth indoor surfaces.
- Aesthetics are spot on, giving you a really good looking shoe.
- Flexible uppers don’t restrict movement so you can dance and walk without the extra limitation.
Cons
- Upper texture can make the shoes a little hard to clean.
Free RN Flyknit 2022 Running Shoe
The Nike Free RN Flyknit 2022 Running Shoe made it to second highest spot on my list for a number of good reasons. Firstly, it’s one of the most flexible shoes you’ll find. The design incorporates Flyknit uppers which has impressed a vast majority of Nike’s market. Essentially, the material is light, breathable, and flexible, feeling more like a reinforced shoe than a sock. This gives you the freedom to move which is particularly important during a Jazzercise routine.
Other features that make the Free RN Flyknit 2022 Running Shoe a winner in my opinion include its rubber outsole which gives a satisfying, sticky slap upon heel strike, its FlyWire lacing system that optimizes fit all around, and its killer aesthetics which are great even for casual use.
Pros
- Flyknit uppers are exceptionally lightweight and breathable for extra comfort
- Superb flexibility lets you move without restrictions and distractions
- Soles provide substantial traction on a variety of indoor surfaces to give you a confident step
- FlyWire cables incorporated into the lacing system provide a dynamic tightening that optimizes fit all around
- Killer aesthetics make it possible to use the shoes for a variety of occasions
Cons
- Definitely not the most affordable shoes – get ready to spend quite a pretty penny for these Nike’s.
Air Max Sequent 2 Running Shoe
The Air Max series from Nike is the go-to for anyone who’s in search of a footwear choice that offers maximum responsiveness. Their Max Air components are exceptionally bouncy, helping users maximize energy and spring through a routine with utmost ease and effortlessness.
The Sequent 2 is particularly ideal for Jazzercise because of its knit uppers that permit substantial range of motion, and its articulated groove sole which lets you achieve maximum foot flexion with minimal resistance. The shoes also have something of a partial, circular knit that makes them fit around the foot like a bootie for optimal support and stability.
Pros
- Max Air component provides a springy step that maximizes your energy and reduces fatigue
- Knit uppers are exceptionally permissive of movement, and improve airflow to boot
- Articulated groove soles allow maximum foot flexion without risking damage to the shoe
- Fits like a bootie for optimal support
- Laces run far down the surface of the uppers, allowing you to adjust the fit more precisely
Cons
- Articulated grooves on the soles somehow affect durability as they are prone to wear and tear over time.
Free TR 6 Training Shoe
The Free TR 6 Training Shoe is a feather-weight, all-around athletic shoe that works well for a variety of exercise routines. The design uses thin synthetic uppers that are lightly padded to give you more breathability without sacrificing comfort. Because they don’t have a lot of padding around the interior, they’re also particularly easy to move in.
FlyWire cables make for a dynamic fit, allowing you to achieve the ideal tightness without applying unnecessary pressure on different areas of the foot. Underneath, the shoe features tri-star treads that expand and contract with your movements to disperse pressure and reduce the restriction on your feet.
Pros
- Ultra-lightweight design lets you get around without distractions.
- Light padding doesn’t restrict movement but still provides just enough support and comfort.
- FlyWire cables attach to laces to allow a dynamic fit and prevent pressure spots
- Tri-star treads flex and expand with your movements to accommodate your step
- Aesthetically appealing, making them double as a casual shoe
- Lots of colorways to choose from
Cons
- May lose its shape and structure after a while because it doesn’t have the right reinforcement.
- Runs a half size to a size too small. Make sure to order a few sizes up to get the best fit.
In-Season TR 6 Cross Training Shoe
The most affordable shoe on my list of Nike’s top Jazzercise shoes is the In-Season TR 6 Cross Training Shoe. Based on what I’ve learned about it, the design is your run-of-the-mill training shoe and doesn’t feature any of Nike’s special technologies like FlyWire of FlyKnit. Despite that, the shoe is a solid performer.
It’s breathable, lightweight, and supportive, using an internal strap that optimizes lock down for fast, multi-directional movements. The soles are made from standard rubber that feature diamond-shaped patterns in varying sizes. These pods help improve grip while the grooves in between each one accommodate maximum flexion.
Pros
- Lightweight construction with breathable upper materials
- Internal strap helps improve fit and keeps the foot locked down for improved control
- Sole patterns are effective on indoor surfaces and also help maximize movement with deep grooves
- Comes in a variety of colorways
- Cheapest shoe on the list!
Cons
- Inner padding isn’t exactly the most comfortable Nike has to offer.
- Nothing really special about the shoes – they perform like your basic training shoe without any special features to offer.
Free RN Distance Running Shoe
Taking all of its features into consideration, the Free RN Distance Running Shoe comes across as the Free RN FlyKnit’s more affordable cousin. The Free RN Distance uses the same tri-star outsole pattern, FlyWire optimum fit cables, and to some extent, even mimics the Free RN FlyKnit’s uppers, using a lightweight mesh and synthetic combo that’s just as aesthetically appealing.
If you though the Free RN FlyKnit was a little too expensive to be practical, then the Free RN Distance Running Shoe should be a better choice. Offering the same support, fit, flexibility, and comfort, the only thing separating these two choices is the fact that the Distance isn’t really as pliable and breathable as its expensive FlyKnit counterpart.
Pros
- Flexible outsoles allow superb flexion
- FlyWire cables guarantee the optimal fit every time
- Mimics the aesthetic of FlyKnit at a more affordable cost
- Lunarlon cushioning is responsive and dense, giving just enough rebound for a comfortable and lively step
- Durable shoes can easily last several months with minimal signs of wear and tear
Cons
- Built-in sock can make fit troubling, and can make it difficult to slip the shoes on.
- The silhouette of the shoe might look bulky, especially around the toe region.
- Takes a while to break-in.
Air Max Thea Ultra FK Running Shoe
For those who want a little more ankle support than the average shoe silhouette provides, there’s the Air Max Thea Ultra FK Running Shoe. This design combines the flexibility of FlyKnit with a slightly higher shaft and a Max Air cushion to give you a responsive, supportive, and flexible shoe perfect for Jazzercise.
The Air Max Thea Ultra FK also features FlyWire cables that adjust along with the lacing system in true Nike fashion to make it easier to achieve the ideal fit. Soles on the Thea Ultra offer just enough traction, and work well on indoor surfaces. Probably the only issue I’ve had with them is the fact that the collar can be a little snug especially if you’ve got larger calves.
Pros
- FlyKnit uppers are pliable and efficient at maintaining a cool climate
- FlyWire helps users achieve optimal fit with minimal effort
- Rubber outsoles work well to provide substantial traction for Jazzercise routines
- Slightly higher shaft offers greater support around the ankles
- Max Air component improves rebound to give you a springier, livelier step
- Lots of different color combos to choose from
Cons
- Because it has quite a number of features, it can feel clunky and clumsy on the feet
- May run a half size to a full size too small
- Collar may dig into the skin causing some irritation and discomfort
Lunarepic Low Flyknit 2 Running Shoe
The last Nike shoe for Jazzercise on my list is the Lunarepic Low Flyknit 2 Running Shoe. These bootie like shoes are extremely pliable and breathable, making it a lot easier to complete a routine without the distraction of a heavy pair of shoes weighing you down. The Lunarepic Low FlyKnit 2 is also exceptionally comfortable, using a dense yet accommodating footbed to reduce pressure and cushion impact.
With FlyWire, laser-cut sole tread pods, and laser perforations, it seems the Lunarepic Low Flyknit 2 Running Shoe was designed to impress and make movement easy and hassle-free. Of course, it’s not a perfect shoe. Issues with fit, the insoles, and durability might make this design a little less appealing than others. Regardless, it could still make a good shoe for some buyers.
Pros
- Breathable FlyKnit uppers are perforated for better airflow.
- Lightweight construction reduces fatigue
- Footbed is designed to absorb impact for a comfortable heel strike with each stride.
- Really good-looking shoe comes in a variety of colorways and makes a suitable casual footwear as well.
- Laser cut pods underneath the shoe work like fingertips, giving you substantial grip on even outdoor surfaces.
Cons
- Runs a half size to a full size too small. Consider ordering a size up.
- The entrance for the foot may be too narrow, so slipping on the shoe could be a little bit of a challenge.
- FlyWire might not be as effective on this particular model, so it might not be that easy to achieve optimal fit.
